Birth Support
As your birth doula, I provide personalized support, information, and guidance whether you're a first-time mom or seasoned parent. My support starts by listening to you and understanding your unique needs and desires. We'll discuss your preferences and options for labor and delivery, my role as part of your support team, plan for postpartum, and more. I want you to feel comfortable and prepared for your birth!
Complimentary Consultation
----------------------------------------
I would be happy to meet in person, by phone, or Facetime/Zoom to discuss my services and answer any questions you might have. Just fill out the contact me form and we can set up a time to meet. I look forward to talking with you!
Prenatal Support
----------------------------------------
1-2 visits tailored to meet your individual needs. These visits are a time for getting to know each other, answering questions, and include information/education, and planning for your birth. We'll discuss your desires and preferences for labor and birth, any fears or concerns you might have, the stages of labor, comfort measures and positioning, my role as part of your support team, breastfeeding, postpartum, and more. I want you to feel comfortable and prepared for your birth!
Communication
----------------------------------------
My role is to support you—not just in labor, but also during pregnancy and early postpartum when uncertainty or questions arise. I provide text/email/phone support from the time we start working together through early postpartum. I'm available to answer questions, talk through concerns and provide resources. Sometimes a quick text or phone call can bring reassurance, practical tips, or clarity. Don't hesitate to reach out!
Labor and Birth Support
----------------------------------------
I'll go on call when you reach 38 weeks, and we'll stay in close contact. During early labor, I'm available by phone, text, or video call to help you stay comfortable and relaxed, and to offer tips for resting, moving, and coping. When we've decided the right time for me to join you, I'll come alongside you and your husband/birth partner if present and provide continuous emotional and physical support until you're holding your baby in your arms.
Every woman's birth unfolds in a unique way. Some support techniques I offer:
-
Encouragement and affirmation
-
Breathing and relaxation techniques
-
Positioning suggestions to promote an easier birth or relieve discomfort
-
Guidance for your husband/coach on how to best support you
-
Explaining "medical-ese" and facilitating communications with your care team
-
Answering questions as they arise
-
Comfort measures such as Massage, Counterpressure, Essential Oils, Hot Packs, Labor Comb, Honey sticks
-
I will take labor notes as I'm able and will take candid photos of your labor and birth if desired.
Immediate Postpartum Support
----------------------------------------
After the birth, I will stay with your family for 1-2 hours to help you begin the bonding process with your baby, make sure you're settled, and provide breastfeeding assistance if desired.
Postnatal Follow-Up Visit
----------------------------------------
I am available to meet in your home, over the phone, or virtually. We'll take this time to reflect on your birth experience, discuss questions or concerns you have, and address any newborn feeding and care issues. I offer lactation support if needed.
